Draining Down your Caravan for Winter | Print |

To prevent any water damage from burst pipes because of frost damage during the closed season and during any prolonged cold periods, it is essential that you drain down your caravan at the end of each season.

We can carry out this service for you for a small cost including reconnection and re-filling at the beginning of the following season. All you need to do is book this service with the Park Office.

If you would like to carry out this service yourself please follow these tips:-

Make sure the gas supply is switched off outside.

Turn off the mains water supply outside your caravan.

Turn on all the taps in the caravan until they run dry.

Empty toilet cisterns by flushing water away.

Make sure you put anti-freeze solution into the sink/bath/shower waste pipes and the toilet bowls.

You must also drain your water heater, on the underside of your caravan you will find a drain screw which must be removed to allow the water to drain away.

Whether you decide to carry out the drain down yourself or you would like this service carried out for you, is up to you. Please make sure you have it done to save yourself money and the inconvience of burst pipes.
